No. Although I am a physical therapist, I prefer sports specific training compared to rehab. This is due to the restrictive nature of insurance in the rehab world. The client benefits more from fee-for-service treatment.
I will do a free 15 minute consultation to help see which path is most appropriate for you. Physical therapy is generally focusing on resolving pain where as training is for sports or general daily life performance.
I can do specific muscle release and/or massage to those areas without needing to be seen for physical therapy.
Traditional PT clinics are dictated by insurance. Insurance reimbursements have decreased which means one therapist may see up to 3-4 patients at a time. I will focus on one-on-one treatments to effectively and efficiently resolve your aches and pains in as few visits as possible.
The state of Florida is a direct access state meaning I do not need a referral at the initial visit. I would need your MD's signature on a plan of care if treatments were to go beyond 30 days.
It depends on several factors, but the goal will be in as few visits as possible to get you out of pain and/or return you to your sport. This could even be as low as one visit!
